Instead, the player can construct their own armies in the form of "decks," each of which contains 8 slots that can each be used on a single Unit, Spell, Enchantment, or Upgrade card. Unlike previous games, Stick War III does not give the player a set faction to play as. Additionally, individual units may be ordered to garrison, attack, or hold position, and units can be manually controlled in a similar way to Stick War and Stick War: Legacy (albeit without stat bonuses). Additionally, several singleplayer and multiplayer game modes are available. As a first for the series, Stick War III allows for team-based gameplay with a 2v2 game mode. Gameplay of Stick War III borrows heavily from Stick War: Legacy, with many of the same mechanics, albeit with some features incorporated from Stick War II: Order Empire (such as the addition of Crystals as a secondary resource and the Tower).
It contains singleplayer and multiplayer gamemodes and its campaign gamemode is still surrently under development.
